Inspired Travel Posters from Voscher

Voscher Home Collection has modern and retro home furnishings, including vintage cocktail shakers. They feature exclusive artwork and offer their services creating custom art from your photographs. They've created their own product line, so you won't find this stuff any where else.

I'm really taken with their new stuff. Check out the new artwork collection, inspired by vintage French travel posters, featuring Tampa landmarks. There's a set of six, but I hear that more are on the way for other cities.

Japanese Tripod Ladders

Nikawi is Japanese for garden tree. Or so I'm told - I don't know Japanese.

But take a look at their tripod ladders. Instead of the American a-frame ladder, these babies have a wide base that eliminates the wobble.

Not falling off the ladder and breaking a hip or ankle? Oh yeah, that's definitely Snackworthy. Unless you're hoping for a big payout from you're spouse's life insurance. In that case, stick with the a-frame.

Best Crab Cakes

A Snackworthy scout recently told me about Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes. He will eat crab cakes at every meal, even breakfast.

Check out their website. They've been featured by Oprah in her magazine. You know, if it's good enough for the O, you know they've got to be good.

What Time Is It?

While on vacation, we stopped by a great store called Abacus. They feature an amazing collection of home accessories and gifts from jewelers and craftspeople. Their web site doesn't do them justice. The store has a variety of really cool stuff.

But you will find some interesting items, like this sleek, modern watch. Visit their site to see it, available in Red, Orange, Black, Blue, Brown, Green and Yellow. Buy yourself something pretty.

Peanut Butter Cups from Maine

We're in Ogunquit Maine this weekend. It's a great small resort town on the southern coast of Maine. A very good place to relax and unwind and eat lobster! In between lobster though, they have some great little stores including the Harbor Candy Shop.

Take a look at their peanut butter cups. Yeah, I'm a slave to the chocolate and peanut butter combination. Pardon me while I wipe the drool off the keyboard.

Anyway, these babies are great. Check them out.

Fun Drinking Glasses for Every State

Catstudio has created a series of graphics for each state that incorporates images of well known landmarks. They've applied them to drinking glasses, pillows, dish towels and aprons.

I'm not sure what they were thinking about with the dish towels - who uses those?

Of course, we bought the drinking glasses - vodka looks great in them. Find your state on their site and pick up a couple of sets.

Famous Fat Dave's Eating Tour of NYC

Last year, we went to New York City with friends for a birthday celebration. We hired Famous Fat Dave, a cab driver who knows the best local restaurants. His eating tours take you to several places to pick up a little food at each stop.

Our tour (we chose Brooklyn) was about two hours and included the best pizza, rice balls, cannoli, the original Nathan's hot dogs and chocolate covered frozen key lime pie on a stick.

I know - blah, blah, blah, chocolate covered frozen key lime pie on a stick? Yeah, it was that good! But so were the rest of the stops, I swear.

Dave has several tours available to choose. Check out his site and plan a trip. You'll never find these places on your own!

What Does Your Skyline Look Like?

So, you're sitting at work trying to look busy again. And there's no new Ugly Betty episodes posted on the web.

Here's a fun way to spend a few minutes online. Check out skyscraperpage.com. You can find cities from all across the world and see diagrams of the towers with up to date information about new construction.

This is an amazing compilation of information that is probably useless to most of us, but amusing nonetheless for a few minutes. And if you can't get enough of it online (NERD), buy a poster from their store of the Empire State Building or the 33 famous architectual landmarks.

OK, I've bought three already.

Never Mix Up Party Cups Again

Every party is the same. You get a drink, then set it down a few seconds later, only to wonder - which cup was my drink? And I definitely don't want someone else's germs.

These babies fix all of that. Etch-It cups are plastic cups that allow you to scratch your name into the black label on the outside. Or scratch a personal message for the crowd.

They are great for large parties. Or for parties where your guests drink too much and can't remember their own names or the name of the hottie they've been chatting up for the past three hours. It happens, OK?

If The Andrew Sisters Sang "Walk Like An Egyptian"

What happens if the Andrews Sisters (c'mon - you have to know Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy) were reincarnated today? No, they don't become Destiny's Child until one decides she's bigger than the other two and goes out on her own.

Wait, I've lost my thought. Oh yeah, the Puppini Sisters. Today's Andrew Sisters, but they're not really sisters. Oldies to the 80's to Beyonce tunes. They really do sing "Walk Like An Egyptian" in a way you've never heard before.

Their unique sound is fun to listen to and very entertaining. It will put a smile on your face as you listen to them swing. Great background music for happy hour!

Very Snackworthy M&Ms

One of the snack foods that I can't resist is m&m's. You can order them online in 22 different colors - mixed your way. You can also have the backside printed to say whatever you want.

They're great for parties, special events, baby showers (they're for the parents, not the kids - what were you thinking?).

Yep, creating the message could almost be as fun as eating them. Now what are they going to do to my other favorite snack - Cheetos?

Keep Your Cords Controlled

In today's world, everything comes with strings attached. Most are electrical cords. While it's nice to have extra cord length sometimes, mostly they lay on the floor collecting dust bunnies and tripping the dogs.

This little beauty keeps the cords from taking over. The CordHog helps organize and store wires without getting tangled up.

You can get them in different colors too. Then instead of hundreds of feet of wires laying around, you can have a ball or two or three... depending on the number of gadgets you own.

For Mother's Day, Give Her an Empty Mailbox

Maybe you've heard of GreenDimes already? It's the service that cuts down on the amount of junk mail you get by putting your name on do not mail lists and allows you to screen what catalogs you get.

Did you know you can also the service to others? Go to their site and click on the Give GreenDimes page. Buy a gift certificate for dear old Mom.

You've got to keep her expectations low. Next year, she'll expect a Mother's Day card or something. Tell her those GreenDimes people blocked it.
